What is SKÅL?
South Florida's link to Skal International, the largest organization of travel and tourism executives in the world.
Skål is a global professional organization of travel and tourism leaders, dedicated to advancing international tourism, fostering collaboration, and promoting friendship among industry professionals. It remains the only worldwide association that unites all sectors of the travel and tourism industry under one umbrella.
Through Skål events and organizational initiatives, industry executives and managers engage at the local, regional, national, and international levels to address shared priorities and strengthen professional ties.
Founded in Paris in 1932 by a group of travel managers following an educational tour of Scandinavia, Skål has grown into a respected international network. Today, Skål International encompasses approximately 12,500 members across 294 clubs in 75 countries. Its membership includes representatives from hotels, airlines, car rental companies, travel agencies, tour operators, DMCs, DMOs, and other key sectors of the global tourism landscape.
Skål International is governed by an Executive Committee elected during the annual General Assembly, held in conjunction with the World Congress and hosted by a different member country each year. This rotating format provides members with valuable firsthand insight into the tourism potential of destinations across the Skål network.
